Social media

Continuing to be small business marketing trends, Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, and Twitter are all social media platforms. They are websites and apps that allow users to share information, such as photos and videos, with other users.

Social media can be used to connect with friends and family, meet new people, and stay up-to-date on current events.

It can also be used to promote businesses and products. Some social media platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter, also allow users to post short messages, or “tweets.”

Tik Tok is a special platform that is mostly used for sharing short videos. Social media can be a fun and easy way to stay connected with others. But that doesn’t always turn out to be profitable.

Email marketing

Email marketing is a process whereby email is sent to customers in order to promote business.

Email can be sent for various purposes such as to promote sales, announce new products or services, or simply to keep in touch with customers. There are a number of email marketing platforms available, such as Mailchimp and Mailerlite. I prefer Mailer Lite because of it’s simplicity and low cost.

Email marketing can also be done through Outlook, but you’ll have to watch out for getting labeled as a spammer if you send too many emails from your account.

In order to email market effectively, it is important to understand the demographics of one’s email list and to segment that list accordingly. That’s why I developed the Segmentation Silos that I constantly use and improve.

It is also important to craft catchy subject lines and to provide valuable content in the email body.

When email marketing is done well, it can be an extremely effective way to reach and engage with customers.

It isn’t Sexy, but it the Highest ROI of anything else on this list.

SEO

Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, is the process of improving the visibility and ranking of a website in search engine results pages.

Search engines like Google and Bing use algorithms to determine which websites should be displayed in response to a user’s query. These algorithms take into account a variety of factors, including the relevancy of the website’s content, the number and quality of inbound links, and the site’s history.

By optimizing their website for these factors, businesses can improve their chances of appearing in search engine results pages and attracting more visitors.

SEO can be a complex and time-consuming endeavor, but it can provide a valuable return on investment by helping businesses reach new customers.

This is definitely a long term plan.

But it’s Vital to get started and keep working at it at least weekly.

I am a Huge fan of SEO because of it’s permanency and Zero cost once created.

PPC

My favorite topic is Pay Per Click(PPC). PPC is a branch of online marketing. In PPC, you only pay when someone clicks on your ad. That’s why it’s called “pay-per-click.”

You can run ads on Google, Facebook, Instagram, and other websites.

Pay-per-click is very effective because you only pay when someone is interested in your product or service. And, you can target your ads to people who are most likely to be interested in what you’re selling.

For example, if you’re selling running shoes, you can target your ads to people who have searched for “running shoes” or “jogging shoes” online.

If you’re selling insurance, you can target your ads to people who are over the age of 50.

There are many benefits to running PPC campaigns. But, the main benefit is that you only pay when someone is interested in what you’re selling. That’s why PPC is my favorite topic. Nearly Instant Results!!

Content marketing

Long-term success in content marketing requires a commitment to creating quality, original content on a regular basis. It can be a challenge to keep up with the demand, but the rewards are worth it. Not only will your website see an uptick in traffic, but you’ll also improve your search engine ranking. And as your audience grows, so too will your opportunities for conversion. In short, content marketing is an essential piece of any long-term digital marketing strategy. So if you’re not already on board, now is the time to make the commitment. Your future success depends on it.

This goes hand in hand with SEO.

The better you do your keyword research and implement a sound strategy, the better your content marketing will work for you.

Influencer marketing

I am NOT a fan of this. It doesn’t work for me.

Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Tik Tok are all popular social media platforms that can be used for influencer marketing.

Influencer marketing is a type of marketing that focuses on using influential people to promote a product or service.

These influencers have a large following on social media and can help to promote a product or service to their followers.

Facebook and Instagram are both visual platforms, so they are well suited for promoting products or services that are visually appealing.

Twitter is a good platform for promoting products or services that are newsworthy or timely.

Tik Tok is a good platform for promoting products or services that are fun or entertaining.

By using influencer marketing, businesses can reach a large audience on social media and promote their products or services effectively.

Your mileage may vary, but again, I am not a fan of using this as a tactic to get customers. It’s not scalable and you have to do it daily.

Conclusion

These are six digital marketing strategies that have been effective for small businesses. But, depending on your product or service, some may be more appropriate than others. And, in some cases a combination of two or three might work best. The most important thing is to experiment and see what works for you and your business. Keep track of the results so you can replicate what’s working and ditch what isn’t.
